80 Day Obsession: Week 5 Results
I've officially hit the 10 POUND mark!
I haven't owned a scale in a few years, but Beachbody requires that we send in our measurements and weight monthly as a part of the 80 Day Obsession Test Group.
I measured in this week and after 5 weeks I've lost 10 pounds on this program. Besides the number on the scale, I feel strong AF and can SEE the difference in my core.

It was a BUSY week with some fun milestones: I turned 32 on August 29th! It was the first birthday that I haven’t had a drink since my 20th Birthday (which sounds weird to type). But I am so BLESSED to be in this program and focusing on strengthening my relationship and mindset about food. I’m not starving myself, I’m not depriving myself and I’m not going to miss a cocktail on my birthday. I don’t need booze to have fun, or “be fun” with my friends/family.

On my actual birthday, I had a photoshoot with my friend Kelly (to document my new hair for social media, of course), had a delicious healthy lunch (salmon salad) and then went home to get my workout in. That evening I had a healthy dinner with a girlfriend. Overall it was a wonderful day and I wasn't thinking about food restrictions or alcohol at all.

Phase 2 Workouts
All I can say is - I'm SORE.
Moving into Month 2 of this program means that there is a whole new set of workouts to get used to. They are sticking closer to being 60 minutes each day - and that is a mental mind game.
I'm a 30 minutes a day kinda gal. I have mastered the 21 Day Fix, Max30, etc -- so I am not going to lie; my mind wanders when a workout takes longer than half an hour. But I am doing my best to limit distractions and keep the momentum going during the workouts each day.
Sober Labor Day Weekend
I spent the day at a pool party with my friend and business partner over the holiday weekend. Going into social situations with a lot of people (that I don’t know) I get a little weary about my no drinking detox and how it would go over.
Will I be tempted to have a drink?
Will people judge me for not drinking?
I’m a lot more easy-going and apt to talk to new people with a drink or two in me…
What would oneeeee drink really do?
Proud to say that I stuck to my guns and didn’t have any drinks!

I’m not saying you are “bad” if you drink alcohol, before this Test Group I really enjoyed having drinks on the weekend. I’m just learning that I don’t need to use it as a crutch in social situations. This Test Group is pushing me both physically and mentally and I’m proud of all of the progress that I’ve made so far this holiday weekend.
I’ve done no-booze detoxes in the past, but it’s capped out at 28 days. While 3 moths has seemed daunting, taking it one weekend at a time has made it a whole lot easier. I’ve done detoxes where I’ve sat at home on the weekends, and ultimately I had been miserable. So this time around, I’m going out on the weekends and still going on dates.
There are some tactics that I’ve learned in terms of how to been more comfortable out in social situations when you aren’t drinking: 🍋 Order a seltzer water with lemon/lime to hold so you don’t feel awkward. Sometimes people don’t even notice you aren’t drinking booze. ✋🏼 If someone offers to order you a drink, just politely decline. 🗣 Focus on thinking about the conversations and people that you are with, not the drinks you are missing out on. 🙅🏻 When the crowd gets too rowdy or your friends are getting pretty toasted, don’t be afraid to call it a night.
All in all, it was a great week! I'm excited to head into Week 6 and keep going strong in Phase 2.
