7 Day No Junk Food Challenge

To conquer cravings from food that's not so good for you, it's helpful to go through mini challenges where you give up these foods. This will make it easier to start to eliminate them from your life.

This 7 Day No Junk Food Challenge requires commitment for 7 days. Avoid the junk foods on the list below for one week and see how you feel after!

It may be a challenge at first, but at the end of the week you'll be surprised how good you'll feel! Benefits you can expect to see include increased energy, weight loss, improved digestive system and better sleep habits.

Easy prep snacks.

  • 1 medium apple + 1 ounce low-fat cheese

  • 1 cup carrot sticks + 3 tablespoons hummus

  • 2 hard boiled eggs

Ditch the soda and sports drinks.

I get it - it's hard to give up soda and sports drinks if you have been drinking them for years.

Chances are that you or someone you know has consumed an aspartame-containing diet soda within the past 24 hours. In 2010, one-fifth of all Americans drank a diet soda on any given day, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

And it wasn't until I started on my own health and fitness journey that I took the time to research just how bad it was for me.

I was the girl that counted calories to try to lose weight. I thought that because Diet Coke had 0 calories, then it wasn't bad for me....right? Wrong.

This is why I stopped drinking Diet Coke.

I know it's not easy to give up something you love (or are used to) cold turkey. Here are some tips from Health.com on how to stop drinking soda:

1. Wean yourself off slowly.

2. Mix it with water.

3. Start tracking your calories.

4. Switch to unsweetened iced tea.

5. Drink a glass of water first.

6. Give seltzer a try.

7. Class up your water with fruits!

I hope YOU take the 7 Day No Junk Food Challenge. Once you do, please leave a comment / review on my Facebook Page and tell me how it went.
