Hot for Halloween: Tricks to Feel Fit in Your Halloween Costume
There are two types of women on Halloween night....and I'm going to use a Mean Girls reference here...
"Halloween is the one night a year when girls can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it."
A little more skin, a little less clothing. I've lucked out that Dallas weather in October can be warm, so you don't have to worry about freezing at night. I've always been the girl that has liked to dress on the sexier side for the holiday. The past two years I've been Britney Spears (my blonde hair made me have to be her, right). I'm undetermined what to be for 2017, but have a few ideas in mind.

If you want to feet FIT and CONFIDENT in your Halloween costume this year, I've got you covered. Here are my top TRICKS on how to feel great by October 31.
1. Make a schedule (and stick to it).
Set a start date, and make a specific goal that you want to achieve by Halloween Weekend. Then break that goal into weekly goals, leading up to the end of October. Decide how many times you want to exercise a week, how many days you will dedicate to eating healthy, and how much weight you want to lose per week to reach your goals.
2. Create a visual reminder of your goal.
Start to do some research about the Halloween Costume that you want to wear. Print out a picture for your fridge, or put it as your background on your phone. You need to remember the long term WHY you want to be healthy the next few weeks.
You can even try on the costume or purchase it in advance, and try it on weekly leading up to
3. Make exercise a priority.
Make sure you are moving your body and staying active leading up to your vacation! You can join a gym or stream workouts at home (email me for a free 14 day trial to my online workouts).
4. Clean up your nutrition.
Do you best to stick to whole foods, and recipes that only include one ingredient foods (aka no processed carbs, frozen dinner meals, or juice cleanses). Need some inspiration for what to eat? Download my Free Clean Eating Guide with 25 healthy recipes.
As a general rule of thumb, do your best to have the following every day: 4 servings of protein, 3 servings of veggies, 2 servings of fruit, 2 servings of carbs, 1 serving of healthy fats.
5. Lock up the liquor cabinet.
This is probably the tip that you want to ignore! But the fact is, alcohol contains only empty calories and has no nutritional value.
In addition, your body can't store alcohol and metabolize it right away. As a result, other metabolic processes suffer. Your body won't metabolize sugars and fats as efficiently during the metabolism of alcohol, and drinking heavily can cause your metabolism to slow. This can contribute to weight gain, as can the empty calories found in alcohol.
Consider skipping the wine at dinner or taking the weekends off leading up to your vacation. The sacrifice NOW will make the reward of feeling great on Halloween that much sweeter (with a drink in hand).
Losing weight doesn't happen overnight, but making these changes to your routine will have you feeling your best by Halloween. Each of these tips helps you to embrace all things Fall while prepping your mind and body for the spookiest — and, in many cases, the most scantily clad — night of the year.
